Tom,
Shoot, this isn't nearly as critical as what you went through. It
gets your attention, though, when you've been hiking 24 miles a day in the
mountains and suddenly (over a year's time) can't make it up a little
hill on the street anymore. They've made a lot of progress in dialysis
lately. My son has a 68 year old guy working for him who feels so good on
peritoneal dialysis (plugs in every night at home) that he took up jogging. If I
can walk the course and pull my cart again, I'll be happy...assuming I don't
strangle myself on all the plumbing some night. Then, there's always a good
chance for a kidney transplant within a year or two. What's amazing to me is
that all through this loss of endurance, I could still play golf OK...with the
help of a cart and a day between rounds to recover. They were right when
they said you could play this game all your life. But, of course, I'm too
weak to trim the bushes, or mow the lawn, or weed the garden :-) Better heal up
fast...son has me entered in a scramble with him and his brother on the 19th.
