Hi Greg:

Actually, I've got to the point now when using the 500W lamp that I routinely check the clubs after 45 minutes.  I might have 1 club in a full set that has an epoxy leak.  I've found it makes a difference if you pay close attention to not loading too much epoxy on the hosel/shaft during assembly.  I've found that if you don't overload the epoxy during assembly you won't have any epoxy leaking out, even when using the lamp for curing.

By the way, if I'm doing a single club late at night that I might want to use the next morning, I'll use my smaller halogen lamp (100W?) and place it about 6" from the clubhead overnight.  It puts out a lot less heat, doesn't require any monitoring during curing, never results in epoxy creepage, but still gives a full cure by morning.

Hi Chris,

I also have a problem with epoxy oozing out around the ferrule. Heat curing seems a great way to get a quicker cure without the Royal Onyx/SA 2000 worries. The attention required because of the the drooling epoxy is a pain. I wonder if anyone has run across the same glitch and come up with a solution?

Take care,
