Tom I will second the opinion of the spectacular vistas on the
Durango Silverton train ride. I have had the opportunity to visit
the area 3 times and made sure to ride the train all 3 times. Would
do it again in a heartbeat. Also got to play the Cliffs course in 1997
just outside of Durango. Fun course and a very nice resort. You
would have to look very hard to beat the scenery on that course
and you certainly can't out do it hear in Texas.

You picked a wonderful place. Best of luck with your venture.
Looking forward to it.

P.S. Hey Jen... I'm not lurking. First post in a year (or more)

Thanks for the input on the shaft info - for sure we have some neat and
pretty original surprises in store on the shaft side of things that are
coming!!

I could talk with you for hours on the beauty and energy of the
mountains so it's nice to hear about your history out in the neck of the
woods - and there are some woods around here for sure!! I tell you,
everyone really needs to experience that train ride on the Durango &
Silverton Narrow Gauge RR, whether summer or winter. The views are
absolutely spectacular. And one thing is for sure, when we get situated
to where we can offer some type of schools or information sessions, I
think that with all of the incredible things for visitors to do and see
up here, we might have a bunch of students not show up for all the
sessions!!!

Just go here www.durangotrain.com/postcards/ and check some of it out.
And their site even promotes the train in the Great Smokies too!
