I purchase most, about 95%, of all of my cutting from Wholesale Tool.   They sell both USA & Off Shore cutting tools.    Now I'm not just talking about reamers either, I own a small tool & die shop so during any given year i might be buying about $4K to $5K worth of cutting, more if I wasn't ill.   I purchase off shore because 1/ they are just as good in both quaility and durability as USA made cutting tools and 2/ because i am a small tool shop i can not afford the much more costlier USA made cutting tools.    However All of my machine attachments are made in the USA.   WIth cutting tools the cost differance is around 100% more in cost for the made in the USA over the off shore items, there are times that the made in the USA cutting tools are even more in cost.   However when I buy machine attachments, collets, tool holders, coolant equipment, etc; i buy made in the USA because i have found after nearly 45 years in the tooling trade, that one although the off shore items may cost less the quality is not as good as the items made in the USA.

Hope this helps

Other than price, is there a difference in quality
between offshore and made in USA?
