Arnie is rising up the Curmudgeon of the Year charts with this one :-) ... I really don't think it's wrong to expect a dealer or distributor to provide a copy of a letter like this. The reality is -- if it's not on the non-conforming list, it's conforming.

Regarding the rest of the rant -- asking for selected weights, lofts, etc -- I think that these are things that a good supplier should provide for you. Especially weights both within spec -- and even hand selecting iron heads with an even 7-gram weight distribution. When this is done, there's a lot less work required by the amateur and even professional clubmaker. I have an electronic gram scale, but that won't help me if I get a driver head too heavy to make to a certain length that I try to design before I receive the components -- I should be able to specify that I want a driver head under 200g (for example). Call it clubmaker welfare if you want, but lighten up just a bit, eh?  :-)

You can verify this by looking at the Bang-O-Matic which has been deemed
non-conforming because of dimensional restrictions which were exceeded

When you submit a head to USGA for testing the results of the report will tell you if the head is non compliant due to size restrictions and COR. Many heads are not submitted because of fear of rejection based on other than COR. I spoke to several suppliers about this and was told "We don't submit any longer because they are a pain in the a$$ about all the new size rules". I know this will add fuel to the current discussion but I will say once again, if this is so damned important to your quest for knowledge, submit the head in question yourself. Keep this up and we will all be paying higher prices for the submission efforts by the importer or distributor. If you wish to be really in the know, take it upon yourself to find out ....... buy a head and submit it. Stop expecting everyone to cater to your every desire.

I read stuff here about requesting special head weights, lofts, and everything else regarding your purchase of most likely one head, if you are getting this service for nothing you are overpaying for the product. If you are a club maker you should have the equipment to do this work yourself! Can't afford the equipment, build it yourself. Get off "club maker welfare".
End of rant!
