MyKey,
I have come to the conclusion that Batteries have the same
relationship as Blades to Razors or Ink Cartridges to Printers,
the money is made on the batteries. I've never seen a "generic"
replacement battery.

I can get a Makita drill, with two batteries and a charger for
about twice what a single battery would cost. Something tells
me they are making money on the batteries.

I took a flyer on a Harbor Freight CHEAP drill and so far it has
worked out fine. Of course, I don't use the drill that much. If
I did, I'd probably get a new Panasonic EY6432 at about $195.
15.6v but a great drill.

Al T and All,
Do any of you guys have a reliable source for reasonably priced batteries for power drills etc. I have mostly Sears stuff -- who knows who made it. The batteries are done for and I am trying to find if replacements are in order or if the equipment goes in the trash.
I guess in the same light then what do you all use for these devices. I love the portable stuff because it is so convenient. But if every battery is like $40 then maybe cords are not so bad.
Inkind,
MyKey
