That's pretty much what I do.
For me, and most golfers I'm aware of, the difference in flex/cpms
introduced by the additional weight is non detectable. There
appears to be much more sensitivity to weight change, which makes
sense, as it can affect how you release the club and can affect swing path.
Just to put some numbers on it, changing the swingweight by one point
using head weight changes the frequency by about 1cpm or a shade more.
A swingweight difference of 3 points is quite noticeable to any
golfer that will notice swingweight (or MOI) at all. But the
resulting 3-4 cpm frequency difference is invisible to probably 99%
of the golfing population.
