navit in shr-u feeds is not so terribly old (missing only 145 commits):
http://git.openembedded.net/cgit.cgi/openembedded/commit/?id=efc6527ff304aaee55f7faf3cb0976d7f777140e

if you want to try newer you can use my AUTOREV builds from
http://jama.dyndns-home.com/org.openembedded.shr/armv4t
there are navit packages built almost daily with latest svn revision, now:

http://jama.dyndns-home.com/org.openembedded.shr/armv4t/navit_0.2.0+svnr4490-r8.12.6_armv4t.ipk

If you find newer revision significantly better, then feel free to ping
me on IRC or send me e-mail and I'll upgrade it in shr-u feeds for all.
I'm not upgrading it regulary, because I'm not using it much lately and
cannot test it properly myself.

Cheers,
