Hi,
The shift to Illume2 was needed to make Illume modular. Now that it's
happened - we'll need to add features to Illume2 that suit the phone
profile.
I made shr-launcher to tide over issues that I found were lacking in
illume - but ran out of time to maintain it. The code is available and
fairly simple and easy to use. Some parts can be added to Illume2.
I also think that phonelog is too slow. Maybe someone can make the
phonelog part of shr-launcher a stand alone program - or I'll do that when I
fins time.
We need to have a way of switching to diff programs on a multitasking
phone. I guess that's the major gripe here. Otherwise, I find the top bar
too full of buttons I don't want to see and missing widgets that do need to
know about.
If there are volunteers, I could help with getting shr-launcher to speed -
or maybe hack Illume2 to shape. Marco Trevisan had some great ideas too - I
guess we had too little time to do much.
