Yes.  This is the last piece of the jigsaw.  I feel like emtooth might
be relevant here, and that I don't completely understand where the line
is between shr-settings and emtooth.  But I will pursue that in a
following response to Pau.

Agreed.  Anyway we don't need to decide this for now.  Maybe, if and
when we do, the intuitive answer may have become clearer.
