My wife says I should read entire messages before responding.......You have my
humble apologies for wasting  your time.....I purposely did not get the usr pnp
model, although cheaper I think that pnp was started my microshaft  as a ploy to
control software drivers and make manufacturers play nice no matter what they
do..........Anyway I think this could be part of the problem, the pnp
part.............One more thing...Is this an external or internal modem? I have
had nothing but headaches with the internal variety on every damned os I have
used....hence the rabid suggestion that you get an external.
