from my experience, gnome is extremely stable, running 0.99.8 and I have
no problems, also using the latest E..

I don't know, I use gqmpeg in conjunction w/ the latest mpg123, on my
k6-2/350 it uses about 7% cpu, you have ot udnerstand that when you're
speaking 'system resources' in windows, that isn't the same as 'cpu usage'
in linux, system resources takes alot more into account, i have yet to see
a system that an mp3 player has less than 1% cpu usage...
