>I hate to say this .. but I know you guys get it at the mail order price (and
>even less than that) so you're marking it up about 100 bucks ... what's
>not outrageous about that?
^^^^^^^ supply/demand/running a business. If price really
matters, then get it mailorder. They'll ship it out, maybe with a 30-day
MBG. And after that, you play Mail-Order RMA. And if there's nothing
wrong, you save the money. GOOD FOR YOU.
We'll give it a one-year warranty against manufactured defect, and
replace the product after testing and finding a failure. You pay for the
convience of walking off the street and getting a burner, the one-on-one
interaction with techs. IF YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT YOU WANT AND DON'T NEED
A TECH. then you are your own man (lady) and can handle your own life.
I never pushed you away from Mail order. It's a proven fact mail order
is much cheaper than retail. You don't pay for location, you don't worry
about Customer Service, you're not supporting a full-shop repair facility
and carry excess surplus while dealing one-on-one with walk-in customers.
After paying the bills, There's more than enough justification in any
markup.
You can argue any of the above points I'm sure. After all, most here
have more market experience. I don't pay the bills, nor do I order the
supplies. IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITHIT, BUY MAIL-ORDER. I never forced
you otherwise. This isn't a forum for consumer debates of
supply/demand/prices.
However, the Teac 4x12 is sold at A&R for $327. Same as the Panasonic
w/o the scsi adapter.
Feel free to research prices and quality yourself. I'm just relating my
personal experiences and some information on local availibility of
devices.
