i just recently upgraded from RH5.2 to RH6.0 and now i cant seem to get
Xwindows up and running anymore. i can type X and get the grey background...
but when i try xinit or startx, the grey background will flash for a split
second, and then change into vertical lines, and lock up. im also not
totally sure i have the most optimal modeline for my vid card and monitor,
but i do know that it works... i have a Trident 3Dimage985 and an Optiquest
Q71. i think the refresh rate is at around 60Hz at 1024x768, but i know it
can get 85Hz easy. im new to this, and if anyone can help me out, id really
appreciate it. thanks!
