well..... i think ive tried everything now.... i used every x11 setup
program available, im sure. i used the exact monitor settings from my manual
too. ive just about given up on trying to use linux on this comp anymore...
i found that a new version of redhat has come out, version 6.1 and i burned
an install cd, and tried it out.... it's install process is almost
completely different. it can bring up a graphical interface in X to
install.... unfortunately, my comp doesnt get past bringing up the graphical
interface, and so i cant use that option. i dont know if this should be some
clue to me that X just wont ever run again or what.... but i know that it
once did... oh well.
