Everyone I know that has a Compaq (desktop or laptop) has had
some problem, be it drivers, hardware, or support, that I've had
to solve. They will call Compaq's tech support and won't get
any help whatsoever. These people at tech support couldn't
even tell my friend what video card she had when given the
model of her notebook. Compaq tries too hard to hide the system
from the user, and that annoys me.

Yes, I know reformatting the HD and installing Linux would fix
that. I just don't want my money going to them, when HP and
Toshiba and others make great notebooks. As far as desktops,
build your own, man. Who in the world would buy a Compaq desktop?
