that is strange,

when preparing the last email i just sent you before this one, i checked
the vendor website and re-downloaded the linux package which is named
KingstVIS_v3.4.2.tar.gz and i also checked that its contents did not
change compared to the same download from june.

ah, i see. i re-checked the website. it lists version "3.4.3" for
windows, but Mac and Linux is still listed with 3.4.2.

so i would doubt that your hardware requires the 3.4.3 version that is
only avaliable for windows.

you could also check whether the vendors version 3.4.1 from your CD is
working with your device.

i successfully tested firmware from vendor version 3.4.0 and 3.4.2.

so i guess you extracted the firmware from 3.4.2 vendor version which is
working on my side. (you could still compare the md5 hashes)
