RaiMan proposed the following answer:
ok, now I finally understood the problem.
There currently is no solution.
A workaround might be, to just "measure" the offset using the Offset
button, and manually create the Pattern.
I will add this as a bug/enhancement for version 2.0.6 (revise the
target offset preview)
