Thanks for those kind words Geoff, One thing I will note, is that we were hardly knocked backwards from people putting their hand-up to participate. It somewhat reinforces my perception that Australian start-ups are really, really poor at marketing themselves.
All PR and marketing is iterative. You build relationships, plant seeds, keep working it and eventually you get a result. So take every opportunity you can get to promote yourself, mix with the press, speak, etc. Geoff for instance grabbed the chance even though he is pre-launch and as long as he keeps stoking those relationships he's built (which with Twitter, etc is so much easier to do than the old days) he'll stand a far better chance of getting some good publicity when he's ready to talk than simply spamming a bunch of journalists who don't know you from a bar of soap with a press release at time of launch. phil On Sep 30, 10:42 am, Geoff McQueen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi Everyone, > > Something a little different for the list on a Tuesday morning when it > appears the financial world is in meltdown: some good news, a thank you, and > a bit pat on the back. > > Two Sundays ago, I was lucky enough to be invited to attend and present at > Influence Forum 08, run by Phil Sim and his team from Media Connect.
