My opinion on this CreditorWatch is that it should really be handled
by Government, in this case either ASIC or consumer affairs, where the
consumers are businesses in the B2B case.

There are many political issues with private credit black lists; for
example in housing rentals the private list has a large number of
people with mental disabilities on it; so these people are further
excluded from basic human services like housing, through a completely
unaccountable form of illegal discrimination.

I dislike the lack of accountability and transparency with a service
like this, I don't think private companies should be playing cop.

We separated church and state because it clouded morality, I think we
should separate business and state for the same reason.

PS: just a quick intro as I'm sorry I've been lurking:

I'm Rebecca Cannon, founder Artabase.
Artabase is an online marketing channel for the Fine Art market.

For my business, when our creditors have been stretched; providing
them with some leniancy has helped earn their trust and respect, and
therefore their business, long term. However we're dealing with a very
respectable market where honour is highly valued, which does help.

I find it hard to beleive the NSW Gov doesn't have existing channels
in place for chasing up overdue creditors; how hard is it to get ASIC
to issue them with a warning that they're trading while insolvant?
