Hi Alan, lots of people don't like to talk about money -- in fact, I know that when they put the BRW Rich List together, they get a stack of pushback from the people that they're reporting on. However, I don't see this as a reason not to try. And since I published my intention to put together a list, I've had quite a few people come forward privately with information they feel I should be looking into. There has been demand for years for a list of this nature in Australia.
Most of my work as a journalist is not in formal interview situations, but in off the record briefings, where people can feel a little safer about what exact information will come out.
