Hi, Another place to look. The states are slowly opening up address information for free. Unfortunately, it's very fragmented. Each state is responsible for the delivery method - if they open it at all. This means even if every state opened up their info you would still have to piece it all together. A bit of a nightmare. Hopefully this changes with the push to open data in the government.
NSW has an address validation service - free. I don't know about the other states though. You can each state's gis website (if they have one).
