Hello Beachers, I am the founder/CEO at Ephox - a "startup" (we have been around for 10+ years) with content authoring and analytics software. Among other things, we are the commercial side of a very popular open source text editing platform called TinyMCE. We have 20 people based in Brisbane, 20 people in the US (mostly in Palo Alto) and a few in the UK. We are profitable, have been bootstrapped and grown rapidly the last few years.
I have been based in the Valley for 7 years and I now live in Palo Alto (Ephox's offices are there too). I get back to Australia a few times each year and try and hit up Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. If you are ever in Palo Alto look me up for a coffee, I am always happy to give dubious advice to Aussies looking to come to the US. Speaking of which, my new startup idea is a really fricken good coffee shop in downtown Palo Alto called "Flat White" or "The Melbourne". Get the baristas trained or imported from Australia, which IMHO has the best coffee shops on the planet. Not exactly high tech, but I think it could work :-) Cheers, Andrew -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Silicon Beach Australia mailing list.
