Hi Matt,
Your question is why it is so hard to sell SEO to potential clients. I'm 
not trying to be smug, but SEO is not like that. It constantly changes & 
evolves and you "Can't learn it once and forever". My only solution for you 
is to trust a SEO company. Let me know if you want to come in and meet us. 
We have over 2,000 SEO clients.
