Thanks Alistair, Alex and Hugh,

I agree with both Alistair and Hugh! That is, I'm well aware of the
complexities and ongoing workload of SEO and CRO (I work in marketing) and
know that it is a specialist role and requires continuous education on the
latest Google algorithms, keyword performance and the activity of the
competitors in your keyword space. Because I understand this, my first
preference would be to outsource to experts - if you don't have (and aren't
interested in building) the in-house expertise, then an SEO company is
great. However, given that we have in-house marketing, don't want to
outsource SEO indefinitely and want to provide relevant PD and up-skilling
for our marketing staff, what we want to do is start training someone up
in-house to be the specialist rather than being reliant on outsourcing for
the rest of our business life.

Thanks for the tips and discussion!

Cheers,

Matt
