I confess that it is an experience that may be out of reach (because of the expense, because of difficulty in getting to the place, etc.) for some people. Nevertheless I share it so people may add it to their bucket list. Some time ago the NYT came up with a challenge <https://www.nytimes.com/2025/11/09/insider/10-minute-challenge.html>: Asking you to look, really look, at a piece of art for 10 minutes. My transformative experience was spending over an hour immersed in observing an art installation. The work is called Matrix by Rei Naito at the Teshima Art Museum (a building designed by architect Ryue Nishizawa). The Museum hosts just this one piece of art (if you don't count the architecture of the building which is also a piece of art). I won't spoil your experience by talking more about the installation. If you are able to make it to the Seto Inland Sea of Japan, I strongly recommend that you experience this work. Thaths -- Homer: Hey, what does this job pay? Carl: Nuthin'. Homer: D'oh! Carl: Unless you're crooked. Homer: Woo-hoo!
