No, I did not assert that desi journalists in London are left
leaning. I only wondered what the possible attraction to London
is, given the egalitarian nature of the UK's publications,
operating in the reality of a hierarchical, pure-profit society.

I just bought a strip of chewing gum- cost me 55p (88c or
Rs.127.27) for something where the COGS is an astronomical 2p. A
pure profitable operation and therefore a capitalistic dream. The
square mile is still a mecca provided one is in the right
profession.

I ask you - since I live in London, am a desi journo, don't think
london is capitalist mecca, and don't think desi journos are
left-leaning - hence my query!

Are you asking me or Sidin or both?

Welcome! I have always wondered about the London attraction for
journalists of Indian origin. Is it because of the anomaly
of left leaning publications in the middle of a capitalistic
paradise?

  Hello All,

usually write about office culture, consumer tech, watches,
travel and books. I have a written a couple of books, one of
which came out in December 2009 and the next one is due this
November. I now live in London after having lived for brief

If you are ever in London I will be happy to let you buy me a

  Thanks.
