I found the light energy from large screen monitors left me tired and
weakened about ten years ago. I have been switching to smaller screens ever
since. These days it's more or less just my smart phone.

I perceived it was the right thing to do out of an intuitive sense.
However, a simple way to explain this is - any flickering light is
annoying, but TV screens flicker fast enough to fool the eye but not fast
enough to fool the subtler senses.

I suppose I was affected more because I'm highly sensitive to subtler
distractions.

As in, what do you spend the most time doing serious work/play on? For any
definition of 'work' or 'play' that appeals to you?

For me, it is still an assembled desktop computer running Windows.
Notwithstanding the existence in the house of 3 laptops, sundry tablets,
and many, MANY phones.
