Dennis; 36 volts is ok if you use 1-1/2" spacing, 16 oz of water with about 3-1/2" of silver in the water. To stop the wiping problem just change the wires on the terminals about every 5 or 10 minutes.. That will reverse the current and make a nice clear solution. Running time about one hour should give about 10 ppm.
