ok so, I had set things up in separate email so that it would be less

You should not be confused. Remember, the problem clearly stated is
half solved.
It would be nice if I could know what is happening, but just knowing if I
am going to have to do the whole subscribe - unsubscribe thing all over
again would be nice,
That only takes a few seconds and is no hill to climb.
( that is to subscribe and un subscribe )
so that before school start the email I used for personal is not being
flooded daily with email from this list, though I love reading the post
from this list...I have to be able to find emails regarding other things,
and on a busy day for the CS list this is hard.
Again, you should be using a program that allows filters.
I never get any mail in my Silver mailbox other than Silver list
messages. Likewise with the off topic list and others.
All I get in my INBOX are messages that have no filter set up.
I have my own local spam and junk filters set up also. I don't use any of
those on the mail servers. Too much trouble and I want to know exactly
what is happening.
For school and business, you can set filters for different subjects to all
go into one mailbox, or messages from one or more people to go into a
special mailbox.
People that wade thru dozens of messages in the INBOX are admitting defeat
and admitting they have not learned how to manage mail properly. Doing
this right, saves many minutes per day ( maybe hours ) that you can use
doing more productive things.
Plus, you can go a few days and not read a silver list message.
When you decide to do so, they will all be there, nice and pretty, in one
mailbox or folder. No mixed up messages.
This is not hard for people of average intelligence, or better. <grin>
I don't think I should have to do the whole process of subscribing from
one email and un-subscribing from another, because I did it once on the
29th of last month....but I will if it will fix the problem that started
on Friday night.
Help would be be appreciated.
I don't think you stated the problem. If you did, I missed it.
That is, other than mixed up messages. Thre is no problem with having 2, 3
or more email addresses at the same time. The better programs will handle
that nicely also.
You can have 3, 19, or 100 mailboxes and many filters.
Another good feature of many mail programs, ........ I could automatically
send all the silver list messages that come into my computer to you,
......... no manual effort at all.
If you insist on using WEB MAIL, there are so many different interfaces out
there, it would take a room full of us to explain all of them. And you
would likely remain confused, and they do a second rate or third rate job
of managing mail.
I think outlook will do it. There must be a dozen or more decent mail
programs that do a good job.
Email addresses are no problems. I can even set on up for you, free.
The only problem that exists is that some bogus ISP's will allow you to
SEND out only on their mail server. You can pick up mail from a hundred
different mail servers. But cannot send to the others.
This is nothing wrong with your local setup. Just the BOGUS ISP.
You absolutely must master a little understanding of the mail systems or
ELSE.......... you will fight these problems for
Years, and Years, and Years, and waste thousands of hours doing it.
It is nothing to get 200, 500, or 800 messages per day when you master
managing them properly.
