Pasteur supported the 'monomorphist' theory, Bechamp the 'pleomorphist'.
Pleomorphism states that a virus can morph - change - into a bacteria,
or a mold, and back again, and take on different forms (rod, spiro,
etc), all depending on the 'terrain'.
With Bechamp, 'the terrain is everything', the 'germ' is nothing. With
Pasteur, the terrain didn't matter - disease only came from outside the
body.
Bechamp proved that when the terrain is impaired (depressed immune
system due to poor eating habits, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc),
disease will 'appear' - and when the terrain is improved, disease
disappears.
