Morning Gerri,

Sorry it took a while. I have been busy. A season mail order business slipped up on me. It always does. Only done it 25 years. After 25 more, maybe it won't. but the dates vary from year to
year.

==================
>>Hi Wayne,
>>If you have researched salt, I'm sure you have found that all salt is not good for you. >>The only salt that is actually good for you is the Himalayan Salt, from everything I have read.
>> Best wishes, Gerrie
===========
I would say, NO, I have not researched salt. If so, I would know much more and know all I want to know. Neither is true. Most of what little I know came in bits and pieces, and observation over
about 40 years. Still not the same as researching it.
Of course the many lies are a problem, researching anything.
==================

Now, .......... you opened a can of worms, so I guess I best feed them.
Something at least.

And let me say, I wonder if you have in fact researched salt, or anyone else. Because no one had much to say.

>> I'm sure you have found that all salt is not good for you.

Virtually any salt, the worst in the world will keep you alive. No questions asked.

And as far at the table salt killing you, I have eater a fair amount over the years
And my Aluminum in the heavy metal test is off the chart on the low side.

Everything you eat is a chelating agent.

People do not give the body chemist and credit to make up for our mistakes and short commings in food selection. But ........ reset assured, it does the job in Grand Style.

As to the many claims for the Himalayan Salt, I think they are exaggerated. I have enjoyed all those things for many years, ....... without Himalayan salt.

Likewise mankind has lived for hundreds and thousands of years ...... Without Himalayan Salt.

It is a bit exaggerated to call it a mineral supplement, as only 2 % of the weight is minerals, 98 % sodium chloride. Not to mention that it is over priced. Just because one spends a lot of money does not guarantee anything.

Salt has a relatively simple definition.......... Sodium and Chloride. Nothing more, Nothing less. Chemically, it is 60.663% elemental chlorine (Cl) and 39.337% sodium ( NA ) The atomic weight of elemental chlorine is 35.4527 and that of sodium is 22.989768. These values checked with my chart.

Where does all this leave us ?

There is a conspiracy against salt to make more people sick and more people go to the doctors.
Instead, they could tell us the truth, .......... if they knew.

And yes, I keep a container of salt in every back pack, every fanny pack, every vehicle I drive and in survival bags. Usually a vial of salt in my pocket, and eat a small amount several times per day.

I am not worried about getting too much salt. My genius body chemist know just what to do,
in virtually every case.

Some interesting notes below on Himalayan Salt. I am not saying they are all true, but
worthy of thought and more research.

I do think many have been conned, by all the salt CRAP, including the Himalayan Salt

================

Healthy 19- to 50-year-old adults should consume 1.5 grams of sodium and 2.3 grams of chloride each day -- or 3.8 grams of salt -- to replace the amount lost daily on average through sweat and to achieve a diet that provides sufficient amounts of other essential nutrients.

================

====================
How much salt is too much?

The <http://www.cnpp.usda.gov/Publications/NutritionInsights/insight3.pdf>dietary guidelines for Americans clearly show lower amounts of sodium in the diet. Currently, 2300 milligrams is the recommended amount. However, a typical American diet ranges from 3000 to 5000 milligrams of sodium. For our bodies to survive, we need about 500 milligrams. A teaspoon of salt is close to the 2400 milligrams.

===========================

Sodium is necessary for life and chloride is also...................

============== A few more Lies........... Any Fool knows this.
Preventing or treating sodium loss due to excessive sweating or <http://www.drugs.com/cdi/sodium-chloride.html#>dehydration. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Sodium Chloride is an electrolyte supplement. It works by supplying a source of sodium for the body.

==============================

================== I have a problem with the term below, "Perfect Sodium" !
Salt Facts

SODIUM is the major element in the transportation of most minerals in the living body. It is therefore essential for the living body to function correctly. If you remove sodium completely from your diet you will die in around 36 hours. A lack of sodium can cause cramps and neurological problems. If you're experiencing cramps or muscular dysfunction it could simply be you are lacking the essential sodium.

Minrosa health crystal ensures you are getting the perfect SODIUM your body needs to function correctly
===============================
Origin of “Himalaya Salt”

It is claimed that the “magic salt” is coming from the Karakorum (Ferreira, 2002). However, as pointed out by the group TourismWatch (No.28 and No.30) there is no salt mine to be found anywhere in this Himalayan region. Most of the salt was coming from the second largest salt mine in the world, in Pakistan.

After the boom began, it was found that even ordinary road salt was being sold as “Himalaya Salt” by ruthless opportunists.

At 1 kg in 100 liters, and at a fluoride content of 300 ppm, this is the same as bathing in water fluoridated at 3 ppm.

================ What a Bargain ?  2 % at often a price 200 % higher !

Mineral composition

The <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bavaria>Bavarian consumer protection agency Bayerisches Landesamt für Gesundheit und Lebensmittelsicherheit analyzed in 2003 15 specimens of Himalaya salt sold in Germany and could detect a total of 10 different minerals: sodium and chloride (98%) and other minerals. This agency states that these salts are coming from <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pakistan>Pakistan and may be harmful in the case of <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypertension>arterial Hypertension <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Himalayan_salt#cite_note-0>[1]. German public television broadcaster <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZDF>ZDF presented the analyzed chemical composition of Himalaya-salt made by <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mineralogist>mineralogist Michael Siemann of the technical university of Clausthal (TU Clausthal Germany) who states that the specimen contained 95-96% sodiumchloride and 10 different minerals.
