Suppose you will see my listing on the list of ENT visit yesterday. I would
like to suggest that your mother has a culture run if possible on her ear. My
problem first was yeast infection and then all the other infections started
taking turns. Of course it was the yeast infection that weakened my ear drum
so I got the holes. If her current doctor does not want to do it perhaps she
can find one that would try to get a culture. Think the CS has got the yeast
under control but it does not want to clear up the bacteria/fungus that I have
now.

It sounds similar to what is going on with my mom's ear somewhat, at times
she will have a lot of drainage out of her ear and then other times it totally
dries up to the point that it is itchy and flaking. Do you make your own CS? I
have bought a cs generator but have not used it yet.

I really do not know unless it was from irritation. I have been battling all
kinds of infection since fall of 2007. Go to a ENT who is as upset as I am. A
month ago when I went in was first time I had it all cleared up with CS. He was
amazed on how well it had worked and interested in the idea. Lost hearing in
both ears. I started wearing aid again for a few days before it flared up
again. The ENT does not realize that I think it was the hearing aid mold that
agitated the abcess area two times now. I have appointment tomorrow. I put in
big eye droppers full of 80 ppm CS 2-3 times a day and swish it around and it
did the job. As I said ENT was amazed. But do not know how to get at boil or
whatever as it not directly in the ear. Just drains into the ear.
