Thanks for input. Guess it is not a boil, just a gland that swells. Please see my list "Disapointed"

It sounds like you are doing your detective work, and observation as
well. Many times others have said on this forum that getting the
silver to the infection is the trick, so they add a little bit of DMSO
to the silver water. DMSO transports through the skin, and the vets I
used to work for used it to carry medicines into horses transdermally.
It will transport anything through the skin, so beware of that-
cleanliness is extra important.

On the boils: alternating heat applications, then allowing the area to
rest helps bring blood flow to the affected area, and can aide the
healing. For a normal boil, which is often a staph infection with a
core, removing the core can help- I had a doc do that once, it was not
fun, but it finally healed after that. It was easy to get to, though.

Sounds like cleaning the hearing aid extremely well is in order, too,
though you have probably already thought of that. Maybe cleaning it
each time it is used, in addition to before reinserting it?

Good luck with your appt.

aid again for a few days before it flared up again. The ENT does
not realize that I think it was the hearing aid mold that agitated the
abcess area two times now. I have appointment tomorrow. I put in big
eye droppers full of 80 ppm CS 2-3 times a day and swish it around and
it did the job. As I said ENT was amazed. But do not know how to
get at boil or whatever as it not directly in the ear. Just drains
into the ear.

I have a question, if you dont mind me asking. How did you know you
have an abscess in your ear? My mother has been battling some kind of
thing in her ear, she went to a ear, nose and throat specialist and t
