Not quite sure what you mean there Steve, I stick one on a computer fan with 
double sided tape, then affix that to the underside of the hinged lid of a 
small box, (with a hole cut out of the lid the diameter of the fan blades of 
course), and then wire it all up to a suitable external power source, (variable 
voltage so I can slow the rpm down, I don't want a *cyclonic* vortex <g>).  
When it's complete I place the container of water on top, drop the mag stirrer 
bar in, switch it on, and bob's your uncle. Just like a laboratory mag 
stirrer...sort of.

You could always rip one out of an old computer hard drive, in fact most have 
two in them, cost you nothing, that's what I did, I've made several mag 
stirrers, wouldn't be without one now.
