Just dealt with a low potassium level myself.  To the point where I was 
experiencing heart palpatations and some perphial muscle cramping.  Also, my 
skin was getting extremely dry.  An interesting clue was that I was craving 
Coconut water and baked potatoes which are foods high in potassium.   Fixed it 
right up with cal/mag/potassium supplements.
 
Same as what Ode said. Unless I was dying and had no other choice I'd keep far 
away from Gatorade. There r much better choices available.
