Hi Pat, In my experience, if something is coming on, I take three or four swallows of my homemade CS a day, with a swallow being about 1/3 of a cup. So I`m getting about 1 to 1 1/3 cups a day. I don`t think a few squirts is enough... Hope this helps! Marshalee
