Helen,

Soon after this post I added current regulation to my generator. The 1st
batch was filtered with 1 white coffee filter. The CS solution turned
cloudy. Thought that I had grabbed a glass that might have had detergent in
it. Thru that CS sol. out. 2nd round, rinsed all glassed with distilled
water. Filtered solution with 1 white coffee filter. Sol.
turned cloudy. I believe it was the bleach in the filter causing the sol.
to turn cloudy, not sure. I quit using white filters. There are plain
filters, nothing but brown paper. I haven't tried them. I saw them at
Albertsons.

Subject: CS>Coffee Filters (was Pulsed DC method)

I have been toying with the idea of filtering my home brew CS through a
coffee filter. Question - how *chemically pure* are these coffee
filters..?? Could these filters contaminate the CS solution or change its
properties..??

Thanks for your help.

Helena
