Copper forms a patina like Aluminum does and becomes non reactive.  Copper
pipes don't dissolve into the water which is why they make good pipes.
HOWEVER, some people have acidic water and their copper pipes DO eventually
dissolve into it..and that makes plumbers rich.
What you are drinking depends of what type of acid.  Is it Copper Chloride,
Copper Sulfate or Sulfide?
