Donna,
I've taken an excerpt from my book, The Wonders of Colloidal Silver, and
printed it here for you. The section on chelation therapy may be helpful.
Please know that we are all concerned with the problems you are experiencing.
It must be very frightening and disconcerting for you. Please do keep us
informed of your condition.
Blessings,
Dhyana

ARGYRIA

What is Argyria? You are going to read and hear a lot about this
condition of silver toxicity. One of the reasons that Colloidal Silver
production fell out of favor years ago was due to this permanent,
irreversible, albeit harmless, grayish blue discoloration of the skin. It
was also deposited in other organs, connective tissue, blood vessels,
gloneruli of the kidney, thyroid, bone marrow, pancreas, liver, spleen,
testes, and ovaries. It affected a small minority, and showed up two to
twenty-five years after exposure. This antiquated ailment, Argyria, was
caused by prolonged exposure (ie: silver craftsmen, silver cleaners) or via
the application of inferior silver medicinals, such as produced by the grind
method which deposited ground silver into the system, or by the use of
diluted silver nitrate. Silver nitrate is a compound of silver and nitric
acid. When dry, it is a crystalline material, when dissolved, it
dissociates into silver (the positive silver cation) and nitrate (the
negative nitrate anion). Both ions are capable of reacting with cells.
Nitric acid is a very strong acid like sulfuric acid, which is harmful to
living tissue. N It can burn your skin very badly. If you are in your
forties, or older, a very weak solution (1%) of silver nitrate was probably
put into your eyes a few minutes after you were born. It was used to kill a
bacteria thereby preventing "gonococcal opthalmia," which could cause a
newborn to go blind. It would stain the skin around the eyes of a newborn.
The silver nitrate utilized to treat infant eyes was successful in thwarting
the bacteria, but it was irritating and did sting the eyes. The small amount
of silver nitrate used for this purpose did not cause Argyria. So who did
get Argyria? Usually it was the silver craftsmen and those who cleaned
silver who developed the problem. Sometimes patients who received inferior
silver medicinal treatment over a prolonged period of time got Argyria.
Argyria was also the result of overdose when "hundreds of times the proper
amount of silver compounds are injected or taken orally." The percentage of
patients who developed the dilemma was small. The silver, having particles
that are too large with no electrical charge (therefore, inert) caused the
skin to turn an unhealthy looking blue-gray color. P This silver accumulation
will not happen with the Colloidal Silver processed with electrolysis because
the silver has an electrical charge, has extremely small particles, and is
not inert.

CHELATION THERAPY

        Chelation (key-lay-shun) therapy is a safe, non-toxic, non-surgical
method of drawing heavy metals such as mercury, lead, cadmium, strontium, and
most divalent metals, as well as calcium from the body. Chelation means
"latching on to something else." Chelation Therapy involves injecting or
ingesting chelating agents, particularly amino acids, which bind with and
draw the heavy metals out of the body via the kidneys. It also helps
increase circulation because it rids the body of calcified plaque, which is
why it has been used to treat arteriosclerosis for more than forty years.
Chelation Therapy is a vital treatment for anyone with serious circulation
difficulties, cardiovascular disease, and myocardial infarction (heart
attack). It has recently become a popular procedure to rid the body of
mercury poisoning caused from amalgam fillings or contaminated fish. If you
choose chelation therapy, the following supplements are recommended: alfalfa,
iron, kelp, and especially zinc and Vitamin C.

Oral chelation therapy is a nutritional method to detoxify the body.

It also replaces essential nutrients that may be inactivated by low level,
chronic exposure to mercury or other heavy metals. The amino acids
L-cysteine and L-methionine have what is called sulfhydryl groups. These
tend to latch on to toxic minerals such as lead or mercury. Cysteine has a
specific affinity for mercury and will bind with it and carry it out of the
body, assisted with vitamin C at a ration of 3:1. CAUTION: To avoid cystine
bladder or kidney stones, vitamin C MUST be taken with cysteine. The
recommended dosage for cystein and methionine is 500 mg. each, twice daily
for a short period of time. High doses of cysteine can lead to increased
cystine, which is the oxidized form of cysteine. Glutathione is made of the
amino acids cysteine, glutamic acid, and glycine. It serves as a storage and
transport vehicle for cysteine. It is a water-soluble anti-oxidant and free
radical scavenger and acts as a detoxicant against heavy metal toxins. It is
also aided by vitamins C and E, adding to their roles as anti-oxidants. The
suggested dose is 50 mg. twice a day. The amino acid L-Lysine (500 mg.
daily) which is so helpful to those who suffer from herpes simplex, is also a
powerful aid in detoxifying harmful toxins and metals, as well as a free
radical scavenger.

Additional chelating agents include: alfalfa (detoxifies liver,
alkalizes the body), Coenzyme Q10 (improves circulation, lowers blood
pressure), Kyolic garlic (detoxifier), Rutin/apple pectin (binds with
unwanted toxic metals & carries them out via the intestinal tract), Selenium
(free radical scavenger), Vitamin A (helps excrete toxic substances),
Vitamin B complex (especially B5 - pantothenic acid, B3 -Nicin, & B6 -
pyridoxine: protects from harmful substances), Vitamin C plus bioflavonoids
(immunostimulants), and Vitamin E (Removes toxic substances, destroys free
radicals). Along with a calcium/magnesium chelate with potassium, chromium,
copper chelate, iron, and fiber these chelating agents can also be taken to
prevent many degenerative diseases.

As for the injected chelation therapy, the chelating agent used is
EDTA (ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid) which is a synthetic amino acid.
Usually EDTA is administered to treat high blood pressure and heart disease
because it successfully improves blood circulation by removing hardened
calcified plaque from the arterial walls. According to James F. Balch, M.D.
and Phyllis A. Balch, C.N.C.,
in their remarkable book, Prescription for Nutritional Healing, "Most serious
illnesses require intravenous chelation therapy in which repeated injections
are necessary. When used under the care of a chelating physician, this safe
procedure offers an alternative to vascular surgery; a coronary by-pass
operation can be avoided in some cases." There are over 150 doctors in the
United States who are "approved chelation therapists," certified by the
AMERICAN BOARD OF CHELATION THERAPY. Unfortunately, they are often harassed
by the FDA, AMA, and the ADA, because it is considered a controversial
therapy. According to E. Cheraskin, M.d., D.D.S. of the University of
Alabama, EDTA is a "homeostatic agent" that stablizes cholesterol,
hemoglogin, and kidney function. "Cheraskin states that EDTA is not
nephrotoxic , contrary to the claims of chelation opponents, but that it
improves kidney function." If you do find a doctor in your area who will
administer chelation therapy, jump at the chance. It can really make a
difference in how you feel. Getting calcified plaque and heavy metals,
especially mercury, out of your system is one of the best things you can do
for your body. To locate a doctor or dentist in your area, contact the

TOXIC METALS

It is in the solid inorganic or raw form that metals can be
determined as toxic. For instance, exposed copper from a kettle is
considered carcinogenic, whereas copper in the colloidal form is very
beneficial. Metal ground to a powder is toxic. The worst metallic threat is
found in mercury amalgam fillings in teeth. The ADA (American Dental
Association) states that amalgam fillings are "safe"...then why do old, used
fillings have to be disposed of in a hazardous waste container? Mercury is
a poison in any form including the colloidal form. Among other negative
associations, Aluminum is said to provoke of Alzheimer's Disease. Never cook
with aluminum cookware unless it is thoroughly coated. Thallium (sometimes
found in amalgams), lead and cadmium found in plumbing; nickel and chromium
from dental ware and cosmetics are all prevalent TOXIC METALS. N To prevent
metal pollution of your body, no inorganic metal should be used. If you
suspect heavy metal poisoning, you will want to check into Chelation Therapy.
