That's a good question. I get my deionized water from a local science lab. They use it for water sampling and general lab work. The PWT water tester I have measures this deionized water @ .6 PPM. The best DW I can find is poland springs which reads in @ 1.1 PPM. From what I understand the lower the reading w/the PWT the better. I think the major difference is that deionized water has a lower conductivity and therefore is better as a start solution for CS. If my understanding is correct the CS from deionized water will have a higher amount of positive ionization, which is desirable.
To those knowledgeable in this area, should one only use water with a reading of say, .2 PPM or better? I have heard varying opinions on this matter. Any insights appreciated.
