Julie The CS that you sent that is sold as 500 ppm is the type that I have seen twice before. It is very dark orange in color and has properties that are similar to dye stuffs. That is it stains paper.
I believe that it is some type of compound that has a natural yellow color. It exhibits a very strong T.E. which indicate that there is particulate matter in the mix. I personally will stay away from compounds. I do not want to be "blue". When I run the Hach silver reagent test in my spectrophotometer using their #22966-00 CLRM method for determining the amount of silver ions in the solution, I arrive at 96.8 ug/ml or 96.8 ppm. How much silver it has as particles I do not know. If anyone wants to pay the $10.00 to have an AA run on it, I am saving the sample.
