Thanks Ole Bob! The DW that's in my 1 gallon pickle jar now is Walmart, but since the DMM never gave me an mA reading....I will test ALL the one's I can find locally, as soon as this meter is working properly.
Any ideas how long it would take with the 27 volt (3-9 volt battery) set up to make a gallon of reasonable ppm CS? This is what I was working with when the DMM didn't work. Took a 1/4" piece of plywood and drilled two holes, 2" apart for the silver wires. Started it, even tho the DMM had no reading and let it run for an hour, cleaned the wires, and let it run for another 1.5 hours. Lots of silver particles at the bottom of the container. Don't plan on using it, since I have no idea what current it is and figure it didn't cook long enough, but it was time for bed and didn't want it leave it cooking overnight. Is it feasible to make 27 volt CS in gallon jars? How many times would I need to clean the wires and any estimate on cooking time? I initially thought I'd need tons of CS to put in 30 gallon waterers for llamas and goats, but since mine are very healthy and I'm hearing cautions about feeding CS to ruminants, I don't need such a large quantity. Tho we're thinking of adopting parvo pups from the shelter, since they euthanize all pups, if only one gets parvo, so may still need a good amount! I don't like how close the wires are to the sides and bottom of a quart mason jar, when 5" of wire is inserted into the DW. But I suppose I can go back to that size. Particulate silver is the number of particles, yes? Ionic ppm is the number of ions. When rating/selling CS, which is used to determine the "actual" ppm? Julie & Critters >I use DW sold by Wal-mart and it is made in Hazelwood, Missouri and it is the >very best that I can find.It appears that they have different makers. so >before you jump to conclusions you must measure the water of conductivity. Tor >some strange reason I can't get that it through some of the hard heads on >this list, that the DMM on the brew set-up is the best indicator of DW >quality. You do not need a Hanna meter. One can make a very sipmle set-up with a 9 volt battery and two pieces of silver taped to a piece of insulator material about 2" wide, have about 5" wet length of #14 silver. Just record a few numbers to knowwhen you have been. VERY DIFFICULT :-) The HHA 500 ppm CS I sent you is purported to be pharmaceutical grade. What is that ????????? How much do you what to make at a time? I am not in the retail business of selling CS but on ocassion I have sold 15 to 20 ppm HVAC ARC CO2 CS if interestred contactme off list. See my answer to Marshall this evening. An AA would show the amount of particulate silveer and that wouldnot change the ionic ppm/ "Ole Bob"
