Hay wolfie, If you put a "mechanical stirrer" on your unit then you will not have to clean the wies or generated black stuff.
The CS you have made is OK don't throw it away. The one gallon CS generators that I have made for people had a ring of 6 #14 electrodes 5" wet length,connected alternately thus forming the equivalent of 12 pairs.(don't write me until you have graphed out the arrangement IT IS CORRECT) I set the current level to 12 ma ( 1 ma per pair) and it would give 10 ppm in one hour.
