I would refuse to shoot or shoot to miss. After all it is war and do not
want any part of it, so if I am to be killed that is tough. I would rather
be shot as a traitor than kill someone else, soldier or not. Been there
never had to do it.
It's not that I'm very squeamish. I eat meat and have done my share of
slaughtering and butchering on the farm. I have chopped many a chicken's
head off with an axe and held its shuddering body and jerking neck while it
pumped squirting blood onto the ground. Have to hold it or there will be
blood all over the place. Then that pretty thing is dinner a few hours
later. OK. But killing people is beyond my frame of things,I'd rather die
myself.
