I think the general idea is that although the pharms know many of the
minerals and vitamins necessary for health, they do not know them all.
Plus there is a synergy between different ones quite often.  The
interesting thing is that when these occur in nature, the synergetic
ones are there also, often in just the right ratios.  There are several
examples of this, calcium and magnesium in dolomite, and the flavoids in
rose hips that are best to have with vitamin C.

Thus if the vitamins are from a natural source, such as rose hips, then
other necessary nutriments that are not known will be there just as the
universe intended it.
