If a 5-9 volt wall wart will work, then a 9 volt battery will work. Just hold the battery terminals on the skin with the bite between them. The terminals should have about the right spacing. I just wonder if you would have to do something to reduce the skin resistance a bit.

A Beck blood electrifier works very well if you have one, but a Clark zapper probably lacks the power needed.
