I agree with you, Thora. I've spent countless hours searching and finding answers to my help challenges on the Net. I thank the Lord the freedom to search and the abundance of info "out there".
We all had to take that first step from dependence on others such as the government, doctors, authorities of all types; to reliance on our own abilities and knowledge of what's best for ourselves. Those pondering that first step need the help and sometimes the spoon-feeding of the "experts" who've traveled a long way down the road of independence. It may help them to take a step or two on their own. It may not :) Who knows until we try :) As Chuck says, there are those who don't realize the resources they have in their dropdown menus... That doesn't mean they can't learn with some patience and help from those who realize. There are, after all, still people who are being introduced to computers in general - mostly middle age and older. The sharing of this list has been great for me. It's provided many thought provoking spring boards for research which I have benefited from. I just hope that all the experts never tire of helping those that are just getting started in the right direction :) Vince -----Original Message----- From: Thora Rasmussen [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, February 15, 2004 1:21 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: CS>search engines, was: RE: CS>Phosphorous / Also Silver Deficiency For me it is a matter of priorities. If you don't make the time to search, you hand over the power to contribute to your own health. Especially if it is something that specifically concerns you. Learning to do searches takes a bit of practice, but once mastered, you can filter through as many as 100 pages in about 20 minutes. What I like to do in a search, is see what the majority of sites say, what they ALL agree on. Then, I take the sites that are different, and dig into their sources a bit more, to see if what they say has value. These are often the sites and info that I would put to others to see if they can help determine if the differences are valid. It was this type of searching that led me to CS in the first place. Most health sites talked about regular treatments, but a few mentioned alternative methods. These I dug into and discovered that many alternatives worked and had no side effects, and even the regulatory groups really had nothing bad to say about them.
