Hi, Here is a letter from me and then one from another 'hired gun'? I suspect she is paid to do this kind of disinformation because she responds to any list she is on within a very short time and whoever is paying her to 'work' is getting the short end of the stick, if she really does have a normal job. She is rabid about anything alternative or natural and most certainly colloidal silver! She often refers people to the Quack list, which I actually find quite descriptive of the man who runs that list.
Anyway, this woman used to work for Ivomec which is a wormer company for animals and she would go ballistic at any hint of using natural wormers. I gather she must own stock in that company. I was told by a highly intelligent man who knows everything there is to know about colloidal silver, that the silver that used to stay in the body is not the collidal silver we have now but rather the larger particles that were used many years ago. The information I have is, colloidal silver is much smaller in particle size and does not stay in the body. I can vouch for the fact that when I put colloidal silver in an unclean milk bottle (for testing purposes), it absolutely would not smell, no matter how long I left it. Then we have the expensive silver medicines for burns and other wounds, that work miracles to keep infection away but cost one arm and half of a leg to purchase. There is no unbiased study that I am aware of that shows silver is dangerous in any amount, whether topically or internally so the words 'no guarantee' and 'possibly' mean nothing. Jean Baugh ************************************************************ The silver in the colloid remains permanently in the udder of the animal. There is no withdrawal time since it is a persistent material. The fines are pretty stiff for producers who are found using colloidal silver in milk producing animals. Silver salts do kill bacteria and have been used as such in air filters and gas mask canisters, but safety is unknown when consumed. There is no guarantee that children drinking the milk will not receive trace but possibly dangerous levels of this chemical which (in the least) results in A permanent pigmentation in their skin. > If you wish to see a discussion about the potential hazards of colloidal silver please check out: http://www.quackwatch.com/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/PhonyAds/silverad.html As an inorganic chemist, I do know that colloidal silver is very unstable in solution, therefore purchasing it from a health food store generally you won't get what you pay for. If you try to generate it yourself, you won't have any idea as to the concentration (too low, way too high) that you produce. In the lab we use standards to test the concentration of the solution. Most folks can't do that at home. I'd suggest leaving colloidal silver alone. There are well tested drugs out there that are more effective with side effects and residue information well documented. I found it fascinating. It covers everything you would want to ask, from the alleged 'blue' people to what it can do.
