Hi, Leann, I can't remember if this was a tooth that had a root canal. I think it was. I think that a root canal kills the root, but not sure about this either. Somehow, I never think of all the things I would likke to know when I'm at the doctor's or dentist's office. Thanks for your input. Ruth
